FlexWay

This special equipment is a mold sliding system in which the upper part of the mold is divided into two parts. The two parts are not rigidly connected to each other. This allows horizontal movement, which is controlled by a pneumatic brake. The pneumatic brake closes when the pressure pieces are moved out of the mold and thus stores the current position. In the next cycle, the exact position is thus used for contactless plunging. After dipping, the pneumatic brake opens again and then closes again with the new exact position. This positioning takes place cycle by cycle in order to have the exact immersion position of the pressure pieces in the mold honeycombs for each subsequent cycle. This protects the mold from wear.

The additional weight of approx. 850kg, which FlexWay brings with it, leads to an improvement of the stone density. The stone surface is smoothed and thus refined by the horizontal movement. Also, the horizontal mobility leads to the fact that there are no restoring forces of the bear plate on the mold top and mold bottom.

In addition, FlexWay shortens the cycle time because jogging is no longer necessary.

Thanks to the two-part modular design of the mold top, the system can be mounted on different mold tops.
